The Bakersfield Guy's Newsletter! Issue #18

A local business is closing this week, a spooky local spotlight and a shorter list then normal because of time constraints. About 30 events listed.

Unfortunately I had to improvise on a shorter issue than normal. I wanted to do a great spooky issue this week, but time did not permit. If you follow me on instagram you might have seen I went to Vegas this weekend, and my truck broke down on the way. It was stuck in Bakers for almost 4 days. I even joked I was going to turn into @TheBakerGuy lmao. I wasn’t able to get it home to get fixed until Tuesday, and had to get back to work a few hours after that. I’m hoping to have a few legit days off next week to pump out a great issue for you guys! As always, thanks for reading.

Here’s a link that shows all my socials if you want to follow along on any of those.

Local Business Spotlight

Scare Valley. A Haunted House

Hey guys! I really wanted to go and get some footage and photos myself of our local haunted house experience, but unfortunately it appears time will not permit this year.

I still wanted to give Scare Valley a shout out! They build and curate a haunted house experience yearly here, and from what I’ve heard it’s a great experience if you’re into spooky stuff.

This weekend will be their last running until next year. They will be open Friday and Saturday 7:30PM-12AM and Sunday 7:30PM-10PM.

Follow them on instagram and go out and support local!

News in the City

Angry Barnyards BBQ is Closing

A sight you’ve seen plenty if you frequent downtown

The owner of Angry Barnyards BBQ announced that they are closing down. They are moving out of California so you can’t blame them, but another awesome downtown business is set to be no more. Good luck to them in their future! Thank you for serving Bakersfield.

Their last day of operation will be tomorrow, Friday the 31st! Go get some and show one last bit of support.
