The Great 48

I didn’t find a poster made by the event so I had my assistant (ChatGPT) mock one up. Take this info with a grain of salt as far as 100% accuracy is concerned

What Is the Great 48?
The Great 48 is a four-day bluegrass jam hosted in Bakersfield by the California Bluegrass Association. Musicians from across California gather to play together in open jams, attend workshops, and take part in evening showcases. It’s more about participation and learning than just watching a show. Even if you’re not a musician, it’s a unique chance to hear live bluegrass up close and see a side of Bakersfield that doesn’t always get highlighted.

I had never heard about this event, and apparently it has been going on for years?!?! Anyways, it sounds like a fantastic, fun event. I’m going to see if I can swing by even for a few hours. Check out details of the multi day event here

Mouse-Con

Another fantastic event, and this one is based on all things Disney! They’re going to have all kinds of guests such as voice actors for Coco, the voice of Donald Duck, Darth Vader and much, much more.

There’s also going to be costume contest and all kinds of vendors selling everything Disney. This is another event I had NEVER HEARD OF. Our city is so much more fun than people give it credit for.

Here’s the website to see more details about the one day, Sunday event.
