Simple Harmonics Baking Company

Look at all the goodies Abbie brought me! my family loved them.
A few weeks ago, I got an email that basically said,
“Hi, I’m Abbie from Simple Harmonics Baking Company, and I want to give you free baked goods.”
So I said, “Why Yes Abbie, I will take the free baked goods”
Then I tried them, and immediately knew I had to share her story.
Abbie, the baker behind Simple Harmonics Baking Company, inherited her love of baking from her mom and grandmother. She started helping bake chocolate chip cookies and blueberry muffins as a toddler, and never stopped. While she’s actually a physicist by education, baking has always been one of her lifelong passions.
After being laid off from her corporate job about a year and a half ago, Abbie finally had the time to turn years of encouragement into action. Today, she’s building a home-based bakery and working to grow it into something great for the community. Fueled by her love of baking and the joy it brings to other people.
Some of her most popular items include pumpkin bread, brown butter shortbread cookies, and sweet Chex mix — which also makes a great gift. If you’re looking for Valentine’s Day treats, the sweet Chex mix, jumbo chocolate peanut butter chip cookies, and s’mores bars are all great picks.
It’s also important to mention that Abbie is going through the proper health department approval process for her recipes, meaning anything she sells has been legitimately and safely prepared.
You can follow @simpleharmonicsbaking on Instagram to order via DM, or email [email protected]. Pickup is available in southwest Bakersfield, with delivery offered for an additional fee. Keep an eye out for pre-orders, flash sales, and new items coming this year.

A Local Fisherman Competing

Jacob, pictured on the right, at the Won Bass Tournament
Shoutout to Bakersfield angler Jacob, who’s been quietly stacking some impressive results on the water. Jacob recently placed 11th at a national WON Bass tournament, competing against anglers from across the country, and followed that up with a 1st-place finish at a local Golden Empire Bass Club event. It’s always cool to see local talent holding their own on a national stage and then coming back home to win it locally.
If Jacob’s name sounds familiar, that’s because he’s also the owner of Indian Crickets, a Bakersfield-based fishing lure brand that’s been featured in this newsletter before. His products are available locally at Cope's Tackle & Rod Shop, and it’s another great example of someone from the community turning passion into something tangible. Whether it’s on the tournament trail, working at Cope’s or fishing locally, Jacob’s putting Bakersfield on the fishing map.
Follow him on IG here. We can’t wait to see Jacob back out there!
